本书是全国教育科学规划“十一五”教育部重点课题子课题“基于语篇的课程资源开发与小学英语有效教学”的研究成果。它以《英语课程标准》为指导, 以主流小学英语教材内容为出发点, 以主题为线索, 围绕颜色、身体部位、服饰、家庭、食物、动物、访问、季节、天气、购物、日常活动、家务劳动、交通、旅行、职业、国家等话题分类创设, 按难易程度创编一级话题16项47个语篇, 力求为广大小学生提供课堂内外英语语篇诵读素材, 培养学生良好的英语语感, 体会英语语言的韵律美。本书按话题将语篇分类, 每一语篇设“语篇文本”“拓展词句”“活动示例”三个板块。
